Jesus tells us: Be One!
One. Unified. That’s how Jesus wants his followers to act. Love each other, and be one. Jesus prayed this prayer for us just before he left this earth. He must have known how hard it gets for us humans to follow those two seemingly simple commands!
“The glory that you have given me, I have given them, so that they may be one, as we are one.” – John 17:22
The point of being One goes beyond us. Our purpose: Show God’s love to the whole world. Jesus goes on to explain the need for unity: “…So that the love with which (the Father has) loved me may be in them… so that the world may know that (the Father has) sent me.”
At PEACE Lutheran Church, we gather each Sunday with one goal: to listen to Jesus’ voice and one body. When we listen together, we support each other. Then, we go out into the world and do our best to walk the talk. We support each other in that, too. We invite you to listen and to walk with us as we do our best to listen to Jesus and love the whole world!
Dear, loving God: Help us to be One! Guide us, lead us and love us through all our troubles. Help us to show your love to the whole world! In the name of the risen Jesus I pray, Amen.
Today at Peace
Graduate Sunday! We honor our high school graduates with a special ritual during our 10 a.m. worship service. After, we offer a reception with cake, punch and balloons!
Coffee Fellowship: Enjoy baked goods and beverages after each worship service in our Fellowship Center.
Today’s Bible readings: Acts 16:16-34; Psalm 97; Revelation 22:12-14, 16-17, 20-21; John 17:20-26. Read them here.
Officiating: TODAY, our Peace Choir leads the worship with “Sermon in Song.” It’s a moving way to learn the day’s lesson and praise our Lord with many forms of music. The Rev. Bill Wong officiates. We are so happy to have Pastor Wong as our interim pastor while we transition to a new, settled pastor.
Need pastoral care? Please call the office at (530) 273-9631. Our office opens Monday through Thursday, 8:30am-3:30pm; closed for lunch 12-1pm.
Sunday School
TODAY, it’s the FIRST SUNDAY of the month, so we meet right after the 10 a.m. worship service – at about 11:20 a.m. – in the Youth & Family Lounge.
On most other Sundays, meet us at 9:45 a.m. in the Game Room (near the Fellowship Center). After a little fussbol, at 10 a.m. we move to our Youth & Family Lounge for a Sunday School lesson.
Youth @ PEACE is our all-ages Bible study, where young disciples learn the core stories of our faith and what it means to walk the Jesus Path. We welcome all who yearn to learn about our loving, gracious Creator.
Toddlers & babies
Kids in church: PLEASE bring your young children to church! Their fussing and squealing may pain you, but they make us glad! Pick up an activity bag as you go into the Sanctuary (on the left in a basket, ask an usher). During the sermon, you can take your kids to our Nursery; a speaker is turned on so you can hear the sermon and follow the service.
Toddler Time: If you’re interested in our special Sunday School program for the tiniest of disciples, call (530) 575-6132. https://www.wearesparkhouse.org/store/category/286879/Frolic-Nursery

Your spiritual growth
We would love to grow spiritually with you!
Like natural seasons, our church seasons have a special meaning for our spiritual lives.
We are now in the season of Easter. During this spiritual time, we read stories about Jesus’ appearances after his resurrection. And, we think about the many ways God renews our lives here and now.
Thank you, God for sending your Anointed One – Jesus! – who brings new life to this broken world!
