Adult Bible Study

Bible Study

Join us to study God’s Word

On Sunday mornings, we gather in the Old Fellowship Hall for study of Scripture. Topics of our Adult Bible Study might include a series studying of one of the books of the Bible or a theme based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Sometimes we watch a video that portrays people putting what they read in God’s Word into action in God’s world. This forum period may include slideshow journeys through the Holy Land. Our goal, each Sunday: Equip you for living out your faith Monday through Saturday!

Adult Bible Study TIMES: 9 a.m. on the FIRST SUNDAY of the month. 10 a.m. on MOST OTHER SUNDAYS. Stop in the Fellowship Center first and pick up a cup of coffee or tea and some fruit or baked goodies!

Special study during Lent!

Lent gives us a time to reflect on our lives. It can help us in that process to find new ways to serve God. One path takes us along a journey of Bible study. Come to our Adult Forum on Sunday mornings!

During Lent, we walk “the Way” with Jesus as we read Reliving the Passion by the famous theologian and writer Walter Wangerin Jr. The Adult Forum meets in the Old Fellowship Hall. Times: 9 a.m. on the FIRST SUNDAY of the month, 10 a.m. on OTHER SUNDAYS.

Need more?

Daily readings at home: We have many resources you can use during the week to deepen your understanding of God’s Word. We offer two daily devotionals (Bible reading guides) for free: “Christ in Our Home” and “The Word in Season.” Both list daily readings that follow the Common Lectionary (Bible verses that Christians all over read the same day). Plus, you can read a short reflection that helps you relate the reading to your daily life.

Look for these booklets on the Welcome Desk in the Atrium, and on the Bible cabinet in the Old Fellowship Hall. If you don’t see any, PLEASE ASK!

“Bread for the Day:” This devotional lists all lectionary readings for each day, writes out one of those readings (making it easy when you don’t have a lot of time) and offers a prayer that relates to a theme in the reading. It also offers some great resources. One is Martin Luther’s morning and evening prayers, prayers and blessings for special occasions. This devotional also offers special readings for saints’ days. You can get an e-edition, too. Click on the link above to learn more or buy it from the publisher.

We welcome everyone to join us in any of these studies of the Bible. It doesn’t matter where you are in your faith journey!
