Hospitality House is a homeless shelter in Grass Valley that provides safe sleeping quarters, meals, showers, medical attention, social services, mail drop and homework space to those who need it. Nearly 400 people stayed at the shelter in 2013.
Peace Lutheran Church was one of the original congregations providing sleeping space, with guests staying at the church three times a month. The congregation provided kitchen space, and members cooked and served meals in cooperation with other faith groups.
Utah’s Place opened as a permanent facility in 2013 with 54 beds. Peace members still help out with meals at Utah’s Place.
