“Youth @ PEACE” Sunday School

Youth @ PEACE is PEACE Lutheran Church’s Sunday morning Bible study program for kids of all ages. It starts at 9:45 a.m. Sundays during the school season – except on the FIRST SUNDAY each month, when we start at 11:15 a.m. (right after the 10 a.m. Worship Service).

Meet in our newly outfitted Game Room for a few minutes of fussbol or ping-pong — but first, pick up cookies & juice in the Fellowship Center! Than, at 10 a.m., we move to our Youth & Family Lounge for our lesson and a little music. Check it out!

Our Mission

Raising faithful children to become active and faith-filled adults is our goal in our youth ministry at PEACE Lutheran Church. Bible stories form the cornerstone of our faith, and children who attend Sunday school regularly will learn key stories from the entire Bible over a period of two years.

Our Program

Learning about God is fun! Our interactive program includes singing, moving around, reading directly from Scripture, presenting skits to the congregation, and leading the congregation in reciting Psalm 23.

Children also learn Bible verses they will remember for a lifetime. These snippets of Scripture will come to mind at times of need as they walk their faith journey. To encourage memorization, children can earn Bible Bucks that can be redeemed for prizes!

Foundational materials include the Holy Bible (children learn to read directly from the Scriptures), Luther’s Small Catechism, and professionally created materials such as Spark Rotation, Connect, Re:Form and other curricula.

Sunday School Topics

During the year, we cover stories from the Old Testament and the New Testament. We also have sprinklings of Reformation history and Lutheran theology.

Some of the stories we have explored recently include Jesus’ call to be “salt” and “light” to the world, the life of the prophet Elijah, and why Jesus came to Earth. We also spent a lot of time recently learning about that poor prophet Elijah — what a mess he was in!

Questions? Cool!

PEACE is a safe place where young people can question the Bible, the church and their own faith. Young people’s questions need to be aired in an atmosphere that both supports their questioning and offers a faithful structure for wrestling – like Jacob! – with thorny issues.

Family Involvement

Youth @ PEACE empowers parents to continue their family’s faith walk Monday through Saturday! Help your children by practicing their memory verses and talking about how they can apply holy wisdom in their daily lives.

Throughout the year, we have fun events for the whole family. See the Calendar of Events or contact the Youth & Outreach Coordinator.
