“Has Christ been divided?”

We certainly are divided – but Jesus asked his followers for unity. We separate ourselves along lines of ideology, race, religion, politics, class, culture, gender, sexual orientation, and even hobbies. But Jesus prayed to God that his followers “be one.”

Unity can be elusive, even for people on the Jesus Path. The earliest Christians divided themselves by who was circumcised, what foods people ate and what language they spoke. Are we any different?

When the early Christians in Corinth fell into disunity, St. Paul reminded them that they were the living Body of Christ. He scolded them, “Has Christ been divided?”

At PEACE, we are not all the same in our beliefs – except for the belief that God lavishly loves each one of us. And we love to share that love with all who seek God!

“The glory that you have given me, I have given them, so that they may be one, as we are one.” – John 17:22

Youth @ Peace Sunday School

Prepare for the coming of the Holy Spirit! Next Sunday is Pentecost, and young people of all ages will practice our Pentecost procession first. Then, we’ll conclude our season-of-Easter with a talk about Holy Communion. (Is that really Jesus’ blood??? Yuck!!) Meet @ 9:45 a.m. in the Youth Room downstairs.

Youth @ PLC is our all-ages Bible study, where young disciples learn the core stories of our faith and what it means to walk the Jesus Path. Bring your questions, doubts and challenges to God, the Bible and the Church – they are welcome here!

Bible memory verses: Kids can earn Bible Bucks for verses they memorize and redeem them for cool prizes! These days, we are working on the Lord’s Prayer and the 10 Commandments.
