For this Third Sunday after Pentecost, we continue our journey with Jesus and his disciples through the Gospel of Matthew and follow the call of discipleship. Jesus speaks to his disciples and points out that the path of discipleship won’t be easy. Jesus declares that his words may bring stark division. Even so, we need not be afraid for God is with us. Though we may experience rejection, frustration, division, and death, God’s grace and love make us a new creation each day. Marked with the cross and entrusted with the Good News of Jesus Christ, we are sent from worship to witness to Christ in the world. What will be your witness and ministry in this messy world?
