Peace Players Presents Jesus’ Passion!

Text: Luke 22:15 – 23:56; Palm Sunday, Jesus’ Passion & the beginning of Holy Week

Friends, food and celebration – that’s what brought Jesus and his followers together for their Last Supper. Then, warnings, anguished prayers, disappointment, betrayal.

Things got worse fast: Arrest, fear, denials, a rigged trial, torture. Then, a humiliating, painful death, publicly mocked as a criminal and a rebel.

The PEACE Players is a group of congregation members who offer this dramatic reading of the Passion of Jesus. (Remember, the root meaning of passion is “to suffer”!)

Prayer of the Day

Everlasting God, in your endless love for the human race, you sent our Lord Jesus Christ to take on our nature and to suffer death on the cross. In your mercy, enable us to share in his obedience to your will and in the glorious victory of his resurrection. We pray in the name of the One who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
