Jesus proclaims: This Spirit sets you free!
Through Jesus, God offers this liberating Spirit to all people! Jesus shook people up when he quoted from the ancient prophet Isaiah. Through Isaiah, God had proclaimed his intention to free the people who love and follow God.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor.” – Luke 4:18
In today’s Bible story, Jesus comes along and says, “Yeah, I’m that special guy God has been promising to send!” When we follow Jesus’ lead, God’s Spirit enters us, too. It frees us, too. Not to do whatever, but to do God’s work in this world. Here and now. With other believers trying to walk the Jesus Path too.
So what holds you back? Fear? Jealousy? Think you’re not good enough, smart enough, rich enough, perfect enough?
God loves you exactly the way you are! When God’s Holy Spirit enters our hearts, each of us becomes an absolutely perfect part of a new body. Our new center is God. Our new mission is to continue Jesus’ work of loving, healing and freeing our sisters and brothers from whatever holds them captive.
God of transformation, please send your Holy Spirit on me now, today! Lead me, as your daughter or son. Help me to walk the Jesus Path! Amen.

Sunday School
Meet at 9:45 a.m. most Sundays in the Game Room (near the Fellowship Center). After a little fussbol, we move to our Youth & Family Lounge for a Sunday School lesson. TODAY: Did you know that Jesus was once 12 years old, too?
Youth @ PEACE is our all-ages Bible study, where young disciples learn the core stories of our faith and what it means to walk the Jesus Path. We welcome all who yearn to learn about our loving, gracious Creator.
Kids in church: PLEASE bring your young children to church! Their fussing and squealing may pain you, but they make us glad! Pick up an activity bag as you go into the Sanctuary (on the left in a basket, ask an usher). During the sermon, you can take your kids to our Nursery; a speaker is turned on so you can hear the sermon and follow the service.

Like natural seasons, our church seasons have a special meaning for our spiritual lives. For us, we now observe the season of Epiphany. During this spiritual season, we read stories that reveal Jesus as the Son of God and the Anointed One who mends this broken world. We would love to grow spiritually with you!
