Do you serve God, or the world?
Jesus came to serve the very least among humanity. Today’s Bible readings contrast serving the world with our ego at the center, with serving the world with God at our center. Oppression, violence, injustice and living for immediate pleasure contrast with obeying God’s will.
Jesus said to his followers, “The Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve.” – Mark 10:14
And when we follow God’s rules, amazing things happen! People treat each other kindly and respectfully. We share our material goods with each other. Everyone has enough. Our hearts transform as we serve those who have less. Jesus sets the example – can we follow?
It’s really hard for us humans to remember where all our material blessings come from. We keep wanting to think that we are in charge. But instead, we find real freedom when we follow God’s call to serve God and others!
At PEACE Lutheran Church, we believe God is the source of all our good things. We invite you to work with us as we put God at the center of our service to the world (and truly, it takes weekly work!). Worship forms the core of that work – at the 8:30 & 11 a.m. today in the Sanctuary!
Bountiful, blessing-ful God, remind me daily that you are at the center of all I do. Please use me to make the impossible in this world possible, to your glory! Amen.

Sunday School
We meet from 9:45-10:45am Sunday in the new Youth-Family Lounge.
Today, we find the Children of Israel getting ready to cross over into the Promised Land. What are the lessons we have learned from wandering in the wilderness?
Youth @ PEACE is our all-ages Bible study, where young disciples learn the core stories of our faith and what it means to walk the Jesus Path. We welcome all who yearn to learn about our loving, gracious Creator.
Toddlers & babies
Kids in church: PLEASE bring your young children to church! Their fussing and squealing may pain you, but they make us glad! Pick up an activity bag as you go into the Sanctuary (on the left in a basket, ask an usher). During the sermon, you can take your kids to our Nursery; a speaker is turned on so you can hear the sermon and follow the service.
Toddler Time: If you’re interested in our special Sunday School program for the tiniest of disciples, call (530) 575-6132 for information. It’s available starting in the fall.

Your spiritual growth
Like natural seasons, our church seasons have a special meaning for our spiritual lives. For us, we are in “Time After Pentecost,” a season of growth followed by harvest – much like fall! We would love to grow spiritually with you!
