Holy Week – our high holy days!

A lot is happening during Holy Week at PEACE Lutheran Church. We invite you to bring your family to celebrate these highest holy days of our faith!

Maundy Thursday

Remembering Jesus’ Last Supper at 7pm Thursday, March 29.

Jesus gave his followers Holy Communion — then delivered himself to his betrayer. This uplifting service ends with the stunning & somber stripping of the altar — a traditional way we express mourning over Jesus’ suffering.

Lenten Soup Supper — Enjoy homemade soup in the Fellowship Center at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, before the Maundy Thursday service. Free!

Good Friday

Remembering Our Lord’s passion, 7 p.m. Friday March 30. Also called Tenebrae, or Service of Shadows. This is a moving ecumenical service that includes sister congregations from Emmanuel Episcopal & Grass Valley United Methodist churches.

This same service takes place at 12pm (noon) at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in downtown Grass Valley.

Color Easter Eggs!

Youth @ Peace host an Easter egg hunt each year on Easter Sunday. In preparation, kids & parents dye hard-boiled eggs & stuff goodies into plastic eggs.

We welcome donations & your children’s participation!

EASTER SUNDAY!

Beautiful & triumphal music sets a tone of joy as we celebrate Jesus’ victory over death on our behalf. Feel the Spirit in our beautiful altar flowers and in our choir’s glorious singing!

8:30 & 11 a.m. worship services — Holy Communion served at both. Enjoy baked goods, Easter treats, fruit & coffee in the Fellowship Center after each service.

Easter Egg Hunt! — Gather in the Fellowship Center after the 11 a.m. service while Mom & Dad get some baked goods & coffee. Two shifts starting at about 12:30 p.m. for younger & older children. We welcome parental help!
