As we walk this world, listen for Jesus’ voice!

Text: John 10:22-30; Fourth Sunday of Easter

We sometimes strain to hear Jesus’ voice. Around the world,Christians are being persecuted and killed. These senseless actions seem unbelievable, in this day and age. Yet, St. Paul reminds us that “nothing can separate us from the love of God.”

As we remember Christians killed on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka, we listen carefully for Jesus' voice to guide and comfort us.

As we remember Christians killed on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka, we listen carefully for Jesus’ voice to guide and comfort us.

But, to get through the difficulties the world confronts us with, we need to listen for the voice of our Good Shepherd. He promises that “no one will snatch (my sheep) out of my hand.”

We close with a moving prayer that reminds us: We come to worship so that’s its easier for us to hear our Lord’s voice. But then, we go out into the world, to proclaim God’s love for all people. Jesus, strengthen us! Amen.
