Lent: celebrate God’s enduring promise of love for all people!

ALL events at PEACE Lutheran Church, including Sunday and Lenten worship services, are canceled until further notice. Please do your part to slow the spread of the coronavirus!

In the meantime, please use these resources to nurture your spiritual life at home. If you need pastoral care, please send an email to office@peacelutherangv.org

Lenten Prayer Services express our confidence in God’s great love, given lavishly to us despite our many faults. At PEACE, we share that hope and expectation with events that live out God’s love in community.

Lenten Prayers and Soup Suppers

Soup Suppers @ 6:15pm Thursdays in Lent – In the Fellowship Center

Lenten Prayer Services @ 7 p.m. Thursdays during Lent – In the Sanctuary

This year: Thursdays, March 5, 12, 19 & 26 and April 2 & 9 (Maundy Thursday)

Our Lenten evening prayers follow the moving format of “Holden Evening Prayer.” We know you’ll feel God’s presence in your life, surrounded by this beautiful music and meaningful prayers. Feel the humility of our position before the Creator of the universe. Reflect on our many shortcomings. Consider the sacrifice Jesus made to make us right with God. We yearn for God’s loving, healing touch on our hearts.

This prayer service offers music, prayer and Scripture that help us in our work of honest self-reflection. Supporting each other, we embrace the wilderness of this life. Together, we look forward to the promised new life of Easter. We leave feeling thankful and praise-full for God’s many blessings in our lives already. We go out ready to live God’s love for others!

Because Lent emphasizes fellowship on this journey, we offer a  Soup Supper prior to each Lenten Prayer Service.

Lenten Soup Suppers, too!

Soup Suppers start at 6:15 p.m. on Thursdays during Lent (except for   in our Fellowship Center. Our free Soup Suppers are humble gatherings around a simple meal of home-made soup and bread – nourishing for body, heart and soul!

If you would like to bring a pot of soup to share at any Lent Soup Supper, contact the church office at office@peacelutherangv.org or (530) 273-9631.

Lenten Soup Supper is in the Fellowship Center at 6:15 p.m., and Lenten Prayer Service is in the Sanctuary at 7 p.m.
