God’s Truth Spirit guides us!

Peace Lutheran Church’s liturgical artist, Ingrid Dreyer, arranges a floating sculpture in the church atrium in preparation for the festival of Pentecost, one of the three great holy days along with Easter and Christmas. The doves are a symbol of the Holy Spirit, and the red evokes flame, another Pentecost symbol.

Truth can be tough to discern. So, Jesus promised God’s Holy Spirit would guide us into all truth. But, how can we hear that Spirit clearly? How can we possibly find the strength to act on that truth?

“The Spirit of truth will guide you into all the truth.” – John 16:13

At Peace Lutheran Church, we seek answers to those same questions. That’s why we gather each Sunday. In this community of believers, we find wisdom, discernment and strength. We find it in hearing God’s word, in sharing the holy meal of wine and bread (gluten free!), in singing inspiring songs and hearing beautiful music. It’s amazing – we feel God’s Truth Spirit among us!

Prayer for Seeking God’s Truth Spirit

Spirit of the One True God, let me hear you clearly. May I feel you powerfully. Guide me into all truth, as Jesus promised you would. Make me a part of God’s kingdom of love, peace, wisdom, justice and unity. Use me to bring that kingdom into my world, here and now! In the name of the risen Jesus, I pray, Amen.

Sunday School

Meet us at 9:45 a.m. in the Game Room (near the Fellowship Center). After a little fussbol, at 10 a.m. we move to our Youth & Family Lounge for a Sunday School lesson.

TODAY is our last day of Sunday School until Sept. 8, when we resume with an Ice Cream Party! (because God’s love is sweet…) For faith-based summer events for kids, check here.

Youth @ PEACE is our all-ages Bible study, where young disciples learn the core stories of our faith and what it means to walk the Jesus Path. We welcome all who yearn to learn about our loving, gracious Creator.

Toddlers & babies

Kids in church: PLEASE bring your young children to church! Their fussing and squealing may pain you, but they make us glad! Pick up an activity bag as you go into the Sanctuary (on the left in a basket, ask an usher). During the sermon, you can take your kids to our Nursery; a speaker is turned on so you can hear the sermon and follow the service.

Toddler Time: If you’re interested in our special Sunday School program for the tiniest of disciples, call (530) 575-6132.  https://www.wearesparkhouse.org/store/category/286879/Frolic-Nursery

Your Spiritual Growth

We would love to grow spiritually with you!

Like natural seasons, our church seasons have a special meaning for our spiritual lives.
We are now in the Time After Pentecost. For the next several months, we read stories about what it means to live our lives as God’s People. We think about what it means to be part of the Kingdom of God, here and now!

Thank you, God for sending your Holy Spirit – who fills me with the strength to tell the world of your love! Amen.
