“She put in everything she had, all she had to live on.” – Mark 12:44
God loves the vulnerable: Widows, orphans, the poor – the Bible tells us again and again that they hold a special place in God’s heart. We, too, are to protect and help them.
But today’s reading leads us deeper: God wants us to be like them – open to God, depending fully on Him, throwing in everything we have with Him, for Him.
Today’s scripture readings lead us to ask ourselves whether we dare to give up everything for God. Will we robe a scribe or feed a prophet?
Today’s Bible Readings: 1 Kings 17:8-16; Psalm 146; Hebrews 9:24-28; Mark 12:38-44
