Happy birthday, USA. Celebrating 250 years of independence is a wonderful milestone and a reason to pause and reflect on the vision this country was founded upon: To build a more perfect union, that all men are created equal, and that all should have equal access to pursue happiness in this life. And yet, as Christians we know that there will never be a ‘perfect union’ until God’s reign covers all of the earth. That is why we turn to God in thanksgiving and prayer.
