It’s Holy Trinity Sunday!

Today, we ponder this remarkable and baffling truth about God: He is Father, Son and Spirit, all one, all together. That’s why we call God a “trinity” – “three” in “unity.” Yet throughout history, we humans experience God working in us and in the world in these three distinct ways. It is hard to fathom!

“Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.” – John 3:5

Our Gospel lesson brings us Nicodemus, a man who knew Scriptures well and taught God’s word to others. Jewish Scriptures pointed him to a path seeking the Father. So Nicodemus meets up with Jesus, the Son. He’s got a lot of questions. Jesus’ answers move Nicodemus to understanding Spirit.

Jesus explains that the Son has come to make the Father known to humanity. The path Jesus points to is one of Spirit. In the ritual of baptism, we humans get washed with both water and Spirit. We are reborn, spiritually, into a new and spiritual life.

But we still seek! Our path formed by and leading to a Trinity God doesn’t make everything clear at once, but unfolds as we walk it. We gather for worship on Sundays, read the Bible regularly, pray, sing, ponder, and find ways to show God’s love to the world around us. Week in and week out. And Jesus promises us that, if we seek, we will find!

At PEACE Lutheran Church, we know you will find the peace and faith our Trinity God offers all seekers. Celebrate with us at 8:30 or 11 a.m. worship services this morning.

Trinity God, lover of seekers, give me the courage to walk the path that leads to you! Amen!

Your spiritual growth

Like natural seasons, our church seasons have a special meaning for our spiritual lives. For us, we are in “Time After Pentecost,” a season of growth – much like summer! Read about Time After Pentecost here.

Adult Bible Study

The Adult Forum meets in the Old Fellowship Hall at 10 a.m. most Sundays. Stop first in the Fellowship Center around the corner to pick up coffee & baked goods!

Sunday School

#FlatJesusLearn that Jesus walks with us even during summer vacation! Plus, we continue our story about the Prophet Elijah. Meet at 9:45 a.m. downstairs in the Youth Room.

Youth @ PEACE is our all-ages Bible study, where young disciples learn the core stories of our faith and what it means to walk the Jesus Path. We welcome all who yearn to learn about our loving, gracious Creator.

Toddlers & babies

Kids in church: PLEASE bring your young children to church! Their fussing and squealing may pain you, but they make us glad! Pick up an activity bag as you go into the Sanctuary (on the left in a basket, ask an usher). During the sermon, you can take your kids to our Nursery; a speaker is turned on so you can hear the sermon and follow the service.

Toddler Time: If you’re interested in our special Sunday School program for the tiniest of disciples, call (530) 575-6132 for information.
