Quietech, a local business, is offering free community classes to give people more confidence in using new technology, identify scams, and to benefit from all it has to offer.
The first class will be Stop the Scam. This class explains how modern scams work, why anyone can be targeted, and how criminals use fear, urgency, trust, authority, and emotional pressure to override logical thinking. Participants learn to recognize common scams, slow down and verify before acting, protect themselves proactively, and respond quickly and without shame if a scam occurs.
