Get a home-made pie and help a family in need! A sale of home-baked pies on Sunday will support Kare Crisis Nursery in western Nevada County. which offers day care for children when their families are in crisis.

PEACE Lutheran Church Women will sell pies after the 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services on Sunday, Oct. 14, in the lobby at the church in Grass Valley. (Sale starts at about 9:30 a.m. and again at about 12:15 p.m.)

“We’ve been doing the pie sale for many years,” says PLCW member Myrna Heppe. In the past, the women have donated their proceeds to Kare Crisis Nursery, the local domestic violence support center, and other local nonprofit organizations.

“We know there’s a great need” for family support services in the area,” Myrna adds.

PEACE Lutheran Church Women is a fellowship organized into small groups. Women meet regularly throughout the year for Bible study and friendship. Participants support local, national and international organizations that serve women and families.
