There will be a Congregational Meeting after worship service this coming Sunday, March 22, for approval to changes of the PLC constitution and the MEF constitution, and the election of a new church council member. Please plan on attending. The church council of Peace Lutheran Church proposes the following change to the PLC constitution: Currently the Constitution states:

Article C12.05 The Congregation Council shall be responsible for the financial and property matters of this congregation. The Congregation Council may enter into contracts of up to $3,000 for items not included in the budget. Contracts in excess of $3,000 shall require authorization by the Congregation.

Church Council proposes to change the wording as follows:

Article C12.05c The Congregation Council may enter into contracts of up to $15,000 or 4% of the annual budget, whichever is greater, for items not included in the budget. Contracts in excess of $15,000 or 4% of the annual budget shall require authorization by the Congregation. Rationale for the proposed change:

The amount currently used needs to be updated to account for inflation since the constitution was originally adopted over 20 years ago.

The election of new council member: We will also elect an additional member of the church council. Robbie Sellery has come forward to join the council.
