Presenting options for end-of-life decisions with emphasis on compassion and peace of mind.
Decisions About Dying is the topic of the upcoming Contemporary Issues Seminar planned at Peace Luther-an. Guest speakers will present guidance and options about ways to approach end-of-life decisions for loved ones or yourself, with an emphasis on kindness, compassion, and peace of mind. Death is a mystery—and also an inescapable reality, and as we age, we are more likely face decisions about how best to accompany family members and oneself on this journey. Knowing what services are available in the local medical and healthcare community can help make these decisions clearer and easier, which is the goal of the seminar. Pr. Christian Schweter of Peace Lutheran will moderate the seminar, and presentations will be made by a panel of representatives from different care organizations:
Guest speakers:
Moderator: Pastor Chrisian
Hospice Care: Heidi Wingo, Executive Director Foothills Compassionate Care
Palliative Care: Susan Claydon, NP, Claydon Geriatrics
Medical aid in dying: Dr. Garrett Eckerling, MD
End of Life Options: Akhila Murphy, Founding Director, Full Circle of Living and Dying
A discussion period for questions and answers will be included. Bios and contact information about the speakers will be available, as well as additional resources for helping with decisions about dying. Treats and beverages will be served. Please join us for this essential and kind look at a personal situation that affects us all.
