Congregational lunch to honor Pastor Eileen!

ONE WORSHIP SERVICE today @ 10am

Our spiritual leader for the past three years, the Rev. Eileen Smith Le Van, will soon follow a heartfelt call to begin training in a chaplain ministry program this fall. So we gather one last time to worship with her in ONE WORSHIP SERVICE at 10 a.m. this morning.

At 11:15 a.m., we will gather in the Fellowship Center for a lunch. We’ll enjoy sharing our memories of Pastor Eileen’s leadership, thank her for her many gifts here at PEACE Lutheran Church, and send her with our blessings into this next phase of her ministry!

Then Jesus said to them, “Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.” – Mark 3:34-35

In today’s Gospel lesson, Jesus tells a story to give us God’s idea of family – not human family as we know it, but how family looks in the Kingdom of God, here on Earth. When we put God first, and walk His Path, a new and different kind of family surrounds us. It’s a family of believers who support each other as we struggle together, experience joy together and work for God’s Kingdom together.

We would love for you to be a part of our family! At PEACE, we are amazed at the love, comfort and true, deep peace we experience as Jesus’ sisters and brothers! Check it out at 10 a.m. worship service this morning.

Surprising, embracing God, lover of seekers, give me the courage to commit to your Path, so that I may bring your Kingdom to all around me! Amen!

Your spiritual growth

Like natural seasons, our church seasons have a special meaning for our spiritual lives. For us, we are in “Time After Pentecost,” a season of growth – much like summer! Read about Time After Pentecost here.

Adult Bible Study

No Adult Forum today due to our one worship service at 10 a.m. and congregational lunch at 11:15 a.m.

Most Sundays, the Adult Forum meets in the Old Fellowship Hall at 10 a.m. most Sundays. Stop first in the Fellowship Center around the corner to pick up coffee & baked goods!

Sunday School

#FlatJesusLearn that Jesus walks with us even during summer vacation! Plus, we continue our story about the Prophet Elijah. Today we’ll meet briefly at 9:30 a.m. downstairs in the Youth Room, then head into our 10 a.m. worship service.

Youth @ PEACE is our all-ages Bible study, where young disciples learn the core stories of our faith and what it means to walk the Jesus Path. We welcome all who yearn to learn about our loving, gracious Creator.

Toddlers & babies

Kids in church: PLEASE bring your young children to church! Their fussing and squealing may pain you, but they make us glad! Pick up an activity bag as you go into the Sanctuary (on the left in a basket, ask an usher). During the sermon, you can take your kids to our Nursery; a speaker is turned on so you can hear the sermon and follow the service.

Toddler Time: If you’re interested in our special Sunday School program for the tiniest of disciples, call (530) 575-6132 for information.
