Pentecost celebrates the gift of the Holy Spirit!

Here's what you'll see when you enter our Sanctuary this morning - celebrating Pentecost!

Here’s what you’ll see when you enter our Sanctuary this morning – celebrating Pentecost!

Our Sanctuary today is splashed with red and filled with beautiful balloons. We hope it helps you feel the mighty, sweeping, swirling, lifting up of God’s Holy Spirit!

Jesus calls it “the Spirit of truth.” That’s because the truth is that God loves you, exactly as you are and where you are. The truth is that God yearns to wrap his arms around you – if you’d just let him! God calls you to live in His love and be a light to others!

The Holy Spirit is God’s free gift to us. It lifts us up when we fall down and helps us push on, breaking through the yackety-yack inside our heads that says “I’m not good enough.”

Pentecost celebrates that day, 50 days after Passover, when God sent his Spirit to Jesus’ followers in Jerusalem. But at PEACE, we know God sends US that spirit every day!!

Holy Father, thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit! Fill me with trust that your “Advocate” always works for, no matter what my faulty human thinking might say! Amen!

Your spiritual growth

Like natural seasons, our church seasons have a special meaning for our spiritual growth. For us, Pentecost starts a months-long growing season – much like summer! – in which we consider how God is cultivating new life in us, here and now. What has God planted in your heart?

Adult Bible Study

The Adult Forum meets in the Old Fellowship Hall at 10 a.m. most Sundays. Stop first in the Fellowship Center around the corner to pick up coffee & baked goods!

Sunday School

#FlatJesusLearn that Jesus walks with us even during summer vacation! Plus, we continue our story about the Prophet Elijah. Meet at 9:45 a.m. downstairs in the Youth Room.

Youth @ PEACE is our all-ages Bible study, where young disciples learn the core stories of our faith and what it means to walk the Jesus Path. We welcome all who yearn to learn about our loving, gracious Creator.

Toddlers & babies

Kids in church: PLEASE bring your young children to church! Their fussing and squealing may pain you, but they make us glad! Pick up an activity bag as you go into the Sanctuary (on the left in a basket, ask an usher). During the sermon, you can take your kids to our Nursery; a speaker is turned on so you can hear the sermon and follow the service.

Toddler Time: If you’re interested in our special Sunday School program for the tiniest of disciples, call (530) 575-6132 for information.
