Today is Christ the King Sunday!

What kind of king? Jesus is not the kind the world is expecting! Jesus is a king that loves lavishly, forgives abundantly and opens his arms to all people from the cross. The world can think him foolish – and us fools for believing in Him. But we know His reign will bring justice to the oppressed, food for the hungry and unity to all His faithful.

Today is the last day in the church year – that series of soul-seasons we use to mark our journey around the Son. On Christ the King Sunday, you will see our sanctuary bedecked all in white – the color-symbol of Jesus’ kingship. Our music is always inspiring, but today’s will be especially triumphal in tone as we celebrate.

Our Lord rules over an upside-down-kingdom where even we are loved – with all our flaws, all our mistakes, all the ways we fall short. Praise to our King!

“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” – Luke 23:42

At PEACE, we thank and praise our King for his generous, loving ways. We welcome you to offer thanks and praise with us!

Pastor Eileen Smith Le Van preaches today.

Today’s Bible readings: Jeremiah 23:1-6; Psalm – inspired by Luke 1:68-79; Colossians 1:11-20; Luke 23:33-43. Read them here.

Sunday School for children & youth

Youth @ PEACE is our all-ages Bible study, where young disciples learn the core stories of our faith and what it means to walk the Jesus Path. Bring your questions, doubts and challenges to God, the Bible and the Church – they are welcome here!

This fall, we are learning stories from the Old Testament. Coming up: The Children of Israel have been wandering in the wilderness, but they cross at last into the Promised Land. On the last Sunday in November, we shift to prepare for our Christmas program. ALL CHILDREN are welcome to participate in the Christmas program, which will be performed at the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Dec. 11.

We start at 9:45 a.m. every Sunday, downstairs in the Youth Room. Young people of all ages are welcome!

Bible memory verses: Kids can earn Bible Bucks for verses they memorize and redeem them for cool prizes! Our goal is for young people to bring God’s word deep into their hearts, supporting a lifetime of faith.
