God finds us – you can be sure!
From the beginning, God has known you. God has loved you and sought you out. Today’s Gospel reading gives us assurance that, no matter how crazy our world may seem, no matter how lost we may feel, no matter what we may have done, God is pouring out onto us his lavish love.
“The Word became flesh and lived among us.” – John 1:14
Sign-posts show us the way. Will we notice them? Will we open our hearts to receive God’s overflowing blessings.
Jesus is the most important sign-post. He was God’s word-made-flesh. He was the Mystery revealed. We may think we are too bad or too fallen to receive God’s love. Jesus’ ministry and his example gives us the assurance that God’s love is given to us for free, regardless of whether we think we deserve it.
