All Saints Day celebrates our dear departed ones.

Today we honor their memory: At the altar this morning, we name them, shed our tears of sorrow, and ring a bell to remind us that their souls live eternally with God. They have “fought the good fight of faith,” living their lives in service to God and God’s world.

Yet we remain here, in what the Bible calls “this valley of tears.” The Good News of Jesus gives us hope and courage to continue the fight. The Bible tells us that, though we are sinners, at the same time we also are saints in Christ. We are forgiven! Death is not the final word!

 “I saw a new heaven and a new earth.” – Revelation 21:1

Today’s Bible Readings: Isaiah 25:6-9; Psalm 24; Revelation 21:1-6a; John 11:32-44

Today’s Sermon: Pastor Eileen Smith LeVan preaches today.

Sponsor a Family

A holiday meal can be sponsored for a local family in need for $20 through Interfaith Food Ministry. Consider donating in someone else’s name as a Christmas gift. Contact Jim Schroeder for more information, or call the office at (530) 273-9631.

Adult Bible Study

“Noise: Why are we so afraid of silence?” We are using a short video from the “Nooma” series for our guided conversation about faith and life. Pastor Eileen leads the study starting at 10 a.m.

Sunday School

All ages are welcome at 9:50 a.m. downstairs in the Youth room. Today, we navigate the Nile River, seeing how God helps us navigate the obstacles that life throws in our way.

WE LOVE VOLUNTEERS! If you have a heart for young disciples, please see Trina.

Youth @ PLC (our all-ages Bible study) teaches key Bible stories – the cornerstone for a lifetime of faith. Younger readers, tweens and teens open each session together, have break-out groups for age-appropriate reading and discussion, then regroup for a joint closing. Often, we also have a large-group activity. Contact Trina Kleist for more information: trinakleist@gmail.com or call/txt (530) 575-6132.
